We are delighted to announce that the Robert Owen Community Banking Fund (ROCBF) has recently been awarded 1 million from the BIG Lottery in Wales.

We are delighted to announce that the Robert Owen Community
Banking Fund (ROCBF) has recently been awarded £1 million from
the BIG Lottery in Wales.

ROCBF's Community Energy Development Fund will be aimed at
unlocking new renewable energy schemes across Wales by providing
innovative financial investment during higher risk phases of their development. 

These funds will complement other sources of funding for the sector. 
ROCBF will also be working closely with a wide range of community
groups to help build financial capability and move them along more
quickly to becoming investment ready schemes.

ROCBF is working in partnership with Community Energy Wales and
with other leading stakeholders in the growing community renewables
sector to roll out the fund from March 2014.
 
Note:
ROCBF is a social lending company based in Mid Wales and already
with a reputation for innovative approaches towards delivering local
finance.  It was formed in 2008 and works across Wales in partnership
with local credit unions.
 
ROCBF has just won a significant contract to deliver low cost loans to
new start-up businesses across Wales, and for providing advice and
specialist mentoring.
 
Earlier this year ROCBF was voted into the top 20 UK social enterprises
as part of a REeconomy/new economics foundation campaign to
highlight sustainability.

Mae’n bleser gennym gyhoeddi bod y Loteri Fawr yng Nghymru wedi
dyfarnu £1 miliwn i Gronfa Fancio Gymunedol Robert Owen (ROCBF)
yn ddiweddar.
 
Nod Cronfa Datblygu Ynni Cymunedol ROCBF fydd rhyddhau cynlluniau
ynni adnewyddadwy newydd ledled Cymru trwy ddarparu buddsoddiad
ariannol arloesol yn ystod y camau yn eu datblygiad sydd â mwy o risg.
Bydd yr arian hwn yn ategu ffynonellau nawdd eraill i’r sector.
Bydd ROCBF hefyd yn gweithio’n agos ag amrywiaeth eang o grwpiau
cymunedol i helpu i adeiladu gallu ariannol a’u symud ymlaen yn
gyflymach tuag at fod yn gynlluniau sy’n barod am fuddsoddiad.
 
Mae ROCBF yn gweithio mewn partneriaeth ag Ynni Cymunedol
Cymru a gyda rhanddeiliaid blaenllaw eraill yn y sector ynni
adnewyddadwy cymunedol cynyddol er mwyn rhoi’r gronfa ar waith o
fis Mawrth 2014.
