DIARY MARKER: Monday 15th June

Invitation to a workshop to develop an Adaptation Plan for the Communities sector

Many communities across Wales have already experienced severe weather events and the impacts of our changing climate.  The Climate Change Commission for Wales (CCCW) Adaptation sub-group is arranging 3 events to support the development of Sectoral Adaptation Plans (SAPs) in Wales: for Business & Tourism; Communities; Infrastructure.

The workshop for the Communities Sectoral Adaptation Plan will take place on Monday 15th June, between 10am-3.30pm, in
 Cardiff University.

It will be of interest to those working in the public and voluntary sector, Town & Community councils, and will help you understand:

  • How current severe weather and future climate change could impact your community, and how to assess the risks;
  • What sources of help and information are available and how to access them.
  • Actions you can take to improve your resilience to severe weather and climate change impacts.

The outputs from the workshop will feed into Welsh Government's work in this area - http://gov.wales/topics/environmentcountryside/climatechange/preparing/?lang=en

I would be grateful if you could make a note of this date, and let me know if you are interested in attending.

Further information, including the agenda and briefing paper, will be circulated in advance of the event.
