Help us persuade the Government to make everyone's home warm
Please take a few moments to send a letter to Amber Rudd, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change to persuade the Government to provide funding for energy efficient homes.
The Government has abolished its national programme to improve home energy efficiency (the Green Deal) and scrapped the commitment for higher efficiency standards for new homes. This means more wasted energy from poorly insulated homes, more wasted money on energy bills and more people finding it difficult to keep warm. If we don't reduce our energy demands we'll need to build even more power generators and power lines across the countryside, and we'll struggle to adequately tackle climate change. However, the Government is considering whether to introduce new schemes to improve energy efficiency in homes and by sending a message now you can help convince ministers.
