Menter Mon - Angharad's passion is the transformation of the Sarn Fraint Farm at Penmynydd

Angharad Holmes lives with her family on Sarn Fraint Farm, at Penmynydd in the heart of Anglesey. Eight generations of the family have lived and farmed at Sarn Fraint, which is now a 70 acre farm that has been transformed into a successful organic business.

Part of the farms grassland is now laid to accommodate Livery for both local and visiting ponies and horses; a recent development (completed in spring this year) is the conversion of a range of farm outbuildings to Livery stables to expand this part of the business further; with an equestrian retail business now also being considered.

Sarn Fraint even has a history as a Coaching Inn; it was converted by Angharad’s x 3 Great Grandfather to accommodate overnight visitors of the Mail Coach and reverted back to its farmhouse status after the railway was extended to Holyhead in March 1850.

A range of (Angharad) products have been developed and are increasingly stocked by Delicatessens and Farm Shops through Anglesey and Gwynedd. Angharad’s brand reflects the care and commitment that has carried the family as successful farmers at Sarn Fraint for so many years on Anglesey.

Menter Môn assisted the conversion of the farm buildings into Livery Stables at Sarn Fraint; this through the Mônamaeth Rural Development Plan funded project made available for farming families to diversify through new products and services
