Monmouthshire Eco Open Doors

Visit local homes and other properties, old and new to find out how to save energy, generate your own, and save money. The second Monmouthshire Eco Open Doors takes place on the weekend of April 27th and 28th 2013. Twenty seven properties will be opening, ranging from a school, a community allotment project, a church, a village hall, new eco-houses, and older houses that have been retro-fitted to make them more eco-friendly. Property owners will be available to talk to you about their own experience of having energy saving and energy generating features installed, and what it's like to live with them. This year, installers will also be present at some properties to provide more technical information and give advice on whether the technologies will be suitable for your property. Pick up a leaflet, which provides details of all the properties except Chepstow Methodist Church which is only on the website, and have a look at the map on this site to plan which places to visit during the weekend. We value your feedback. If you have any comments about the event, or would like to open next year please email us: events@monecoopendoors.org.uk

Eco Open Doors 2012

The first Monmouthshire Eco Open Doors weekend took place in March 2012. Twenty eight, (28), properties and projects opened their doors for visitors to find out more about energy efficiency and domestic renewable energy installations. Visitors were very complimentary about what they saw, finding the weekend a very useful and inspiring way to learn from householders about how the various technologies work and what they are like to live with.

We are very grateful to the property owners who opened their doors, many provided visitors with printed information about the costs and savings made through their energy efficiency and energy generating measures.
