Pilot social enterprise projects being sought for Making Local Woods Work

Llais y Goedwig are very pleased to announce that expressions of interest are now being taken for Making Local Woods Work, a Big Lottery funded project working to help support and grow woodland-based social enterprises across the UK.

About Making Local Woods Work

The project is being led by the Plunkett Foundation in partnership with a wide range of other partners, including the Community Woodlands Association (in Scotland) and Llais y Goedwig (in Wales).

The project will work with 50 woodland social enterprises across the UK over the next three years. It will provide them with a range of support tailored to their individual needs; all 50 will receive four days of specialist support, and there is anticipated to be some additional support available for 30 of these.

In addition, a series of training and networking events will be organised to help anyone interested in woodland social enterprise (not just the fifty pilots) to achieve their ambitions. Llais y Goedwig are anticipating at least one of these will be held in Wales

Seeking pilot woodland social enterprises

The project is seeking applications from groups who are looking to undertake new social enterprise activity – either new for the group, or for existing social enterprises, a new trading opportunity. The project be accepting expressions of interest until February, and we expect the announcement of successful projects progressively as applications are reviewed
