Operations and Delivery Co-ordinator
Prior to joining Renew in the summer of 2019 I have been involved for several years in the local food scene of Machynlleth, growing and selling veg through a cooperative veg-box scheme and coordinating the community project Edible Mach which is building resilience and skills around growing and cooking food. I am a voluntary director of Mach Maethlon which oversees both these projects and another which is developing the market for local food and training new entrants into horticulture.
I’m proud to live in the first town in Wales to have declared a climate emergency and in January organised an Extinction Rebellion climate coffee morning for residents to come together to share ideas of how to tackle climate change in a local context – over 100 people came!
I am also a bit of a techie having worked for 14 years in the smartphone software sector, first as a programmer then as manager of various projects to deliver the software for new phones, often between partnering companies such as Skype and 3.
It is exciting to join Renew at this critical stage as the urgency of tackling climate change is beginning to sink in to the public’s consciousness and people are discovering there are things that we can do together that make a real difference.
