Grow Food Well: top tips from the experts
Grow Food Well: top tips from the experts
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Renew Wales and community groups in west Wales are bringing together expert growers to share their decades of experience for an evening of practical, food growing tips. We have 5 superb talks lined up with plenty of time to ask questions, followed by an opportunity for participants to share their own experience.

  • Hot Composting with Steve Wilson of The People’s Orchard, St Dogmaels.
  • Weeds, Seeds and Pest Solutions with Malcolm Berry of Hafod Walled Garden.
  • Climate Wise Gardening with Kim Stoddart, Guardian journalist, author and trainer.
  • From Garden to Field: Scaling Up with Tom O’Kane of Cae Tan CSA, The Gower.
  • Getting a Site, Getting Growing with Lucie Taylor of Social Farms and Gardens.

This event is suitable for everyone, from complete beginners up to experienced gardeners, with a focus on people that live in West Wales. With more people than ever enthusiastic to grow food, we aim to bring you the best information to make your harvests abundant and your garden nature friendly and resilient.

There are increasing challenges to our food supply from climate change, biodiversity decline and more recently the coronavirus. We can be part of the solution by growing food in our communities, without chemical fertilisers, pesticides and herbicides, significantly increasing our positive ecological impact and reducing our carbon footprint.

This event is hosted by community groups, Ffynonne Community Resilience, Transition Bro Gwaun, Paramaethu sir Benfro Permaculture and funded by Renew Wales.
